Our lab focuses in the study of ion channels, which are proteins in the cell membrane that allow ions to pass across the cellular membrane, hence controlling cellular excitability.
Using a multidisciplinary approach (genetics, molecular biology, advance microscopy techniques and electrophysiology), we aim to understand the basis of some neurological diseases that are precisely associated to defects in ion channel function.
